As Muslims we seek the best of this world and the Hereafter. Every person desires good health and seeks protection from illness as taught to us in the Quran and Hadith. However, Allah Ta'ala in His Wisdom decides what is better for a person. At times, Allah Ta'ala afflicts a person with illness that becomes a means of forgiveness, cleansing and elevation.

Life and death are natural occurrences of human life. The demise of a beloved is a most painful experience. However, beyond the loss, there is great hope, reward and glad tidings for the Believers.

This is a brief refresher on the method of performing the Janazah Salah. In the current conditions, Janazah Salah often takes place late at night or in the early part of the morning, hence very few people attend. It is essential to learn and revise the method of Janazah Salah.

Cleaning the fingers after eating by licking them is a Sunnah of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam). Hazrat Ka'b bin Malik (R) narrates that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) used to eat with three fingers and when he (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) completed eating he (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) would lick his (blessed) fingers. (Sahih Muslim)

The Ahadith of Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) emphasise the importance of modesty. Modesty is an adornment for a believer and fortification of Iman.

He accepted Islam with his father in Makkah whilst he was still relatively young and he made Hijrah with his father as well. He was approximately 10 years old at the time. He sought permission to participate in Badr but was declined by Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) on account of his tender age.
