Istikharah is a priceless teaching of Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) – a gift for every Muslim. Istikharah means to seek goodness from Allah Ta'ala in a matter of importance in one's life. Through Istikahrah a person draws from the favours of Allah Ta'ala.
Many have lost their beloved family members in recent days and weeks. We take the opportunity to condole the bereaved and provide guidance on the loss.

Since the lockdown in South Africa has been extended to 30 April, it is inevitable that a few days of Ramadan will be spent under lockdown.
The outbreak of the Coronavirus has caused many to go into social isolation and will result in many people working from home.
With the national lockdown having taken effect we are all at home and have plenty of time to think and reflect on our lives.

The President of South Africa called for a 21 day nationwide lockdown on 23 March 2020. The lockdown comes into effect at midnight on Thursday, 26 March 2020 until 16 April 2020.
It is established from the Ahadith, that Nabi r used to recite the Qunoot (dua) in Salah for the protection of the Muslim community when a severe calamity and disaster faced the Ummah.

The Azan is the arabic term for the call to prayer. When the Azan for Salah is called out it is mustahab (rewarding) to reply to the Azan by repeating the words after the Muazzin. This practice has been encouraged in a number of Ahadith.
Time is the most valuable capital of a man. There can be no price that can be attached to time. In Surah Al-Asr, Allah Ta'ala takes an oath on time, “By time! Verily man is in loss.” This verse implies that those who do not value time are in a state of loss and destruction.
Harbouring malice, ill feelings and bad thoughts about another Muslim is a major sin.
