Zubaida bint Ja`far ibn Mansur was the amongst the most well-known of the Abbasid princesses. Zubaida was the daughter of the Abbasid Khalifa Mansur’s elder son, Jaffer, the cousin and wife of the richest and most powerful of the Khalifas, Haroon al-Rashid, the fifth Abbasid Khalifa. It is said that Zubaida's palace 'sounded like a beehive' as she employed one hundred female maidens who had memorized the Qur'an.
Allah Ta'ala says in the Noble Quran: "And announce to humanity, (O Ibrahim), the pilgrimage, and people will come from every part of the world by every means of transport – so that they may witness the benefits for them …” (Surah Hajj – Verse 27)
O guests of the Most Merciful! O fortunate ones! O travellers to the Haram! Congratulations on being invited by the Lord of the worlds! Be glad that He has invited you to His House! Not only that, but He has given you the provisions for travel and lodging.
Once Qari Abdul Basit (R), the famous Qari of Egypt, was asked, “You recite Qur’an with a great deal of enthusiasm. Have you ever witnessed any miracle regarding the Qur’an?”
A young man travelled to London for business training. He was a righteous individual and punctual with his Salah. After training, during his spare time, he would quietly listen to the Qur’an in his hostel room. The recitation was so soft that it could not be heard outside the door of the room.
All praise is for Allah Ta’ala. As Muslims, we praise Him, and forever seek assistance from Him. We also seek His forgiveness for all our shortcomings, and we seek refuge from Allah Ta’ala for our bad actions and the evil that hides within us. Whoever Allah Ta’ala guides and directs, there’s none that can misguide him, and whoever Allah Ta’ala does not guide (the misguided ones) there’s none in order to guide him.
