The amount is expected to contribute to the Comprehensive Agricultural Support Programme (CASP), which will provide farmers with the necessary materials, infrastructure support, and input, as well as training, mentorship programmes, and farmer development initiatives.

The department has stated that these interventions will help strengthen agricultural production and increase farming opportunities within rural areas.
